Describing, analyzing, and explaining cartoons |
||||
Students choose (or are assigned) different years or cartoonists and their writing examines, describes and analyzes multiple cartoons from that year (person). In addition to describing the content, students answer the following questions: What's the message behind the cartoon? Is the message subtle or overt? Is there a hidden message? What were the social circumstances at the time of the cartoon? What can we infer about the cartoonists preferences and prejudices from the cartoons you chose? | ||||
