DePaul University's department of English seeks candidates for a tenured-track, assistant professor position beginning September 2008.

The successful candidate will teach a multi-genre undergraduate survey of the long eighteenth century, and undergraduate and graduate courses in the field such as eighteenth-century poetry, literature of the late-eighteenth century, or trans-Atlantic or interdisciplinary approaches to the period. Candidates should also be prepared to teach general literature courses for English majors and for non-majors in general education.

Candidates must have the PhD in hand by September 2008, with demonstrated expertise in teaching and an active scholarly agenda. We seek candidates with a commitment to undergraduate education, experience teaching students of diverse backgrounds, and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural student population. Tenure-track faculty participate in advising and committee service and often teach in DePaul’s interdisciplinary programs.
