DePaul University's department of biological sciences seeks candidates for a ten month renewable appointment, long-term teaching professional position with full benefits to begin July 1, 2008.
Strong commitment to undergraduate education is required; ability to work with undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff is essential. Ph.D. or Ed.D. required; broad training in biological sciences preferred; previous teaching experience desired. Candidate will assume responsibility as director of student laboratories for the introductory general biology sequence for majors.
Duties include: coordinating activities of all personnel involved in preparing and presenting the student labs; staffing two or three lab sections/quarter; and coordinating/overseeing departmental ordering, delivery, storage, and disposal of materials required for multi-section labs. The laboratorian will also teach three course equivalents per year in some combination of introductory biology for majors, non-majors, and specialty classes in the candidate’s area of expertise.
